The society played for the Aercon Trophy @ Alton GC
The day was a beautiful sunny day, and those who played agreed the course was in fantastic condition, with the greens once again being lightning quick.

Once again, the scores proved how difficult a course Alton is to play.  Winning for the third year in a row at this course was Neil Mallinson with 33pts, He was followed by Keith Palmer who scored 32pts beating Steve Walsh also with 32pts on the B9

Colin Parker would have been 4th with 32pts but unfortunately was disqualified under society rules for signing for the wrong score, Ian Brades was therefore promoted to 4th place with 31pts

The society played for the Barry Warren Trophy at Bird Hills GC,
This was the first visit to Birds Hills for the society since pre lockdown 2020, Those who played would agree it was good to be back playing this venue.
The weather forecasters,  predicted shower spells in the afternoon, However this was avoided, and we had a dry and beautiful day, with most being able to play in t-shirts (a couple even in shorts)
Apart few bad patches/spots on a couple of fairways, the course was in good condition and the greens were Immaculate, probably the best we have played on so far this year.

The previous weekends weather of 18°c gave those playing false hope that we were now over the cold weather spells, even though the day though dry, it was still cold with maximum 9°c.

The course was in good condition for the time of the year, but still a few ropey spots on both the fairways and greens

The society played for the Society Trophy at Hampshire GC
After heavy rain the previous evening, the course was a little wet in patches but still in good condition for the time of the year.,
However, the day itself , produced the best weather of the season so far (apart from 10-20mins of rain, which most of the society got caught in) with several players in short sleeve t-shirts.

Winning his 3rd game of the season was Gary Major with 37 pts ( this despite him falling down hills, cutting his head on bushes and almost getting hit by a car)

Asendia Trophy 2025

The society played for the Asendia Trophy at Hurtmore GC
The weather was miserable all day, with constant drizzle and cold wind, which unfortunately resulted in some players having to withdraw after 9 holes.
Those who did manage to finish the round were glad of the warmth in the clubhouse at the end of the round.
The weather made the course tough to play, though all would agree the greens were still In immaculate condition and still very fast despite all the rain.

A few players seemed to enjoy the wet day, with Alan Husher scoring 41pts to win the day, he was followed by Mark McCarthy with 40pts

This was reflected in the scores with only 2 out of 20 members scoring over 30pts

Winning the day and finally being eligible to win, Gary Major scored 34pts, followed by Carl Venning with 31pts and Paul Mallinson 28pts (B9)
